A quick look
We check the tooth, talk you through what we have found and explain exactly what the filling involves. If you are anxious, this is the moment to say so, and we will go at your pace.

Tooth-coloured fillings that repair decay and blend in seamlessly, so a treated tooth looks no different from the rest. Comfortable, careful, and done in a single visit.
A filling repairs a tooth where decay has worn a small hole, or where a tooth has chipped or cracked. We gently clean away the damaged part, then rebuild the tooth with a tooth-coloured material that bonds into place.
Ours are matched to the shade of your own teeth, so once it is done, you would be hard pushed to spot it. No silver, no dark patches when you laugh.
Most fillings come down to decay that has started to eat into a tooth. Left alone, that small hole only gets bigger and can start to ache, so dealing with it early keeps things simple.
Sometimes it is an old filling that has worn down, or a tooth that has chipped. Whatever the cause, a filling restores the tooth before it turns into something that needs more involved treatment.
For most fillings we numb the tooth first, so you should feel pressure rather than anything sharp. The whole thing is usually over in well under an hour.
If you are nervous, just tell us when you book. We will explain what we are doing as we go, and stop whenever you need a moment.
Looked after well, a tooth-coloured filling can last many years. Brushing twice a day, keeping up with regular check-ups, and easing off the sugary snacks all help it go the distance.
We will keep an eye on it at your visits, and if it ever needs topping up or replacing down the line, that is a straightforward job.
Think you might have a cavity, or noticed a twinge? Book in and we will take a proper look, no pressure either way.
Calm, careful care
01A sharp twinge when you sip something hot, cold or sweet can be an early sign that decay has worn through the surface of a tooth and a filling is needed.
02If you can feel a little hole, a rough edge or a catch with your tongue, the tooth has likely started to break down. A filling smooths it over and stops it spreading.
03A dull ache that comes and goes, or a tooth that grumbles when you bite down, is worth getting checked before it turns into something that needs more than a filling.
04A grey, brown or black mark on a tooth can be decay taking hold. Caught early, it is a simple filling rather than anything more involved.
05Older fillings do not last forever. If one has cracked, worn down or fallen out, replacing it protects the tooth underneath and keeps everything sealed.
06If food keeps getting stuck in the same spot, it can be a sign of a cavity forming between or on top of a tooth. A filling restores the shape and stops the trap.
Noticed any of these? Best to catch it early.
Book a check-up
You are in good handsWe check the tooth, talk you through what we have found and explain exactly what the filling involves. If you are anxious, this is the moment to say so, and we will go at your pace.
If the filling needs it, we gently numb the area first. It is a small pinch, then nothing. We wait until you are fully comfortable before going any further.
We carefully clean away the decay, then build the tooth back up with a tooth-coloured material, shaping it as we go. You will feel some pressure, but no pain.
We set the filling, then check your bite feels natural and smooth it until it is just right. You walk out with the tooth restored, usually all in the one visit.
Nervous about it? Just let us know when you book. We see it all the time, and we will make sure you feel comfortable from start to finish.
We numb the tooth fully and move at a pace that suits you.
However long it has been, you get honesty and care, nothing else.
We explain each step and stop the moment you need a breather.

There is very little to do after a filling, and you will be back to normal almost straight away. A few small things in the first day or so keep it feeling comfortable.
If the tooth was numbed, give it a couple of hours before eating so you do not accidentally bite your cheek or tongue. Warm drinks are fine once the feeling has fully come back.
The tooth might feel slightly sensitive to hot or cold for a day or two, which settles on its own. Ordinary painkillers are fine if you need them, though most people do not.
Tooth-coloured fillings set hard straight away, so you can eat as usual once any numbness has worn off. Just go easy on that side for the first meal while it beds in.
Brush twice a day and floss as you normally would, the filling is cared for exactly like the rest of your teeth. Keeping up with check-ups helps it last as long as possible.
If your bite feels high or uneven, or the tooth stays sensitive after a week or so, it is an easy adjustment. Just give us a ring and we will sort it out quickly.
